Lord Shiva, Lord of Chidambaram, the resident of Kailasa and of the golden (grandiose) assembly of the Universe, is the embodiment of Shiva-Shakti (energy). He represents the energy (lingam), with neither a beginning nor an end that pervades the entire universe.
